The Crankie Island Song Project

32 Songs, from each of the 32 Counties of Ireland. each accompanied by video featuring artworks from artists throughout the country.

Live in New York
IRISH ARTS CENTRE

February 7th, 2026.

The Crankie Island Song Project features Dervish’s Cathy Jordan and visual artist Peter Crann, who bring Irish lore to life through traditional songs from the 32 counties of Ireland, illustrated by hand-drawn crankies—picture scrolls that move with the music. They, along with backing musicians Liz Hanley and Eammon O'Leary, perform in the JL Greene Theatre at our annual family concert celebrating St. Brigid’s Day and Imbolc, the ancient Celtic festival marking the coming of spring. Imbolc-inspired crafts to follow!

This year's Imbolc celebration is made for both adult audiences and family audiences. For younger attendees, we recommend ages 8 and up, but all kids are welcome!
